“May your ways be known throughout the earth, your saving power among people everywhere. May the nations praise you, O God. Yes, may all the nations praise You.” (Psalm 67: 2-3)
‘Go and make disciples of all nations.’ That is what Jesus commissioned His disciples to do, just before He was taken up into heaven. So too, we are called to make Christ known to all the earth.
Where to begin? Sometimes the example of Godly men helps to show us the way. David was described by God as a man after His own heart. Although not perfect, David displayed God in every part of his life. One thing stands out though, David was a man of prayer. His psalms are not only words of praise, but of prayer. He understood that the only way for others to know God, was for
God himself to lead them to Him. He knew that prayer was the answer.
‘Go and make disciples of all nations.’ This starts with a life of prayer, lived in faith, and then reflected by Christ in us. Let us not neglect this crucial part of our lives.
Oh Lord, may you be known throughout the earth. We know that every knee will bow in praise before you. May we not neglect your commission. May our hearts be burdened with the nations, may we be filled with compassion for those around us. May we be joined in one voice, shouting, May the nations praise you, O God!
